Lamb Chopsuey Recipe

 

 Ingredients

*Marinate & cook lamb

400g lamb pieces (boneless)

1 tablespoon dark soy sauce

Pinch of salt

Pinch of black pepper

1/2 cm ginger (crushed)

6-8 cloves of garlic (crushed)

1/4 cup cooking oil

*For stir-fry and chop suey 

1.5 cups warm water

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon cornflour

3 carrots (chopped)

1 onion (finely chopped)

1 bundle of cabbage (coarsely chopped)

6-7 cloves of garlic (crushed)

1 cm ginger

Salt to taste

1/4 cup cooking oil

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

2 chillies (finely chopped)

Methods:

1) In a mixing bowl, add lamb pieces and marinate with dark soy sauce, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, crushed ginger and garlic. Mix all the ingredients with lamb pieces and marinate for 15-20 minutes.

2) Add oil in a heated frying pan and cook the marinated lamb until well done. Ensure to turn and stir lamb pieces, occasionally (add 1/2 cup water of meat is rubbery). Once, lamb has cooked, set aside.

 3) Then, in a frying pan, add cooking oil. Once the oil has heated, add onions, garlic and ginger. Stir and cook until light brown.

4) Add carrots and stir-fry to your liking.

5) Add cabbage and stir-fry to your liking.

6) Then, add cooked lamb pieces, chillies, light soy sauce, water, sugar and cornflour. Stir and cook until the chop suey starts to thicks.

*Serve lamb chop suey warm with rice or your favourite root crops.
